A Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology Established in Latin America and the Caribbean by Ruben Echeverria
Sixteen Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries, with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation, IDRC, the Inter-American Institute for Agricultural Cooperation (IICA), and the Inter-American Development Bank, have established a Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology. The Fund's Board of Directors held its first meeting in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, on July 2 and 3, 1996. The mission of the Fund is to increase the competitiveness of the food and agriculture sectors, ensuring sustainable management of natural resources and reduction of poverty in the LAC region.
