Jamaica country assistance strategy. World Bank. 2000-11-02
Based on the Government's development agenda, encouraging recent initiatives, and, given the context of the fiscal, and financial sector challenges, this Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) builds on an improved macroeconomic dialogue, with the immediate aim to help prevent a reversal of the recent, unexplained gains in poverty reduction, and create the foundations for sustained growth. The CAS lays out a program focused on the Bank's core mandate of poverty reduction; on areas where the Bank has a comparative advantage; and, on complementarity with development partners, relying largely on their intervention, in areas such as agriculture and rural development, the justice system, including common interventions, such as the financial sector.
