one of the historic achievements of the year 2005 was the fact that Barbados turned the corner towards becoming a fullemployment modern economy. The record low level of unemployment of 8.5% that was recorded in the third quarter of the year, when economic activity is at its lowest, portends that, with the appropriate measures to s pur investment, training and the general level of economic activity, full employment can become a realistic goal for the Barbadian society.
