In the second half of 1990s, Cuba has intensified its campaign to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). In September 1995, the Cuban government adopted a long-awaited foreign investment law aimed at giving additional assurances to foreign investors that Cuba welcomed their participation in the economy and their investments would be secure.
