Monetary and Exchange Rate Policies in Jamaica --- Mr. Roberto Zahler
This paper discusses the role played by monetary and exchange rate policies in Jamaica. It presents an overview of Jamaica's macroeconomic developments during the last years, in order to realize the major conditionings and restriction and to appropriately consider the 'initial conditions' on the current design and implementation of Jamaica's actual monetary and exchange rate policies. It also analyzes those polices and discusses changes that could improve their effectiveness from an institutional, analytical as well as from an operational perspective.
