Toolkit for Localising the Millennium Development Goals: a UNDP Capacity Development Resource

At the 2005 World Summit, Heads of State and Governments reaffirmed their determination to ensure the timely and full realisation of the MDGs. They placed strong emphasis on the importance of partnerships and capacity development as essential drivers of development effectiveness and cooperation in this process. These political commitments need to be translated into action and resources at country and local level, based on clearly articulated national development strategies and alignment of donor resources with these national priorities.
