Economic activity of the resident population of Anguilla according to the May 2001 Census.

The main economic activity during the twelve months prior to the 2001 Census was 'working for pay or profit'. 73% of the population aged 15 years and over fell into this category. This was the case for both men and women. 80% of men said that they were economically active compared to 66% of women of working age. While the proportion of women who are economically active has grown considerably from 34% in 1974 to 66% in 2001, men reached a peak of 82% in 1992 and have declined to 80% by 2001.
