This Assessment was meant to: 1. Collect concrete and specific data on living conditions in selected poor communities in order to produce a multi-dimensional view of poverty and deprivation, its distribution ,and the factors that contribute its existence. 2. Increase understanding of poverty and deprivation based on the experience and from the perspective of individuals, of households, and of different groups in these communities. 3. Identify the vulnerability and risks faced by poor individuals and households as they strive to sustain their livelihoods. 4. Identify assets and resources, including natural resources, to which poor individuals, households and groups have access. 5. Obtain information from individuals, groups and households.
