TRADE POLICY REGIME: FRAMEWORK AND OBJECTIVES
Trinidad and Tobago's main policy objectives are to position itself as an economic hub of the Western Hemisphere and to achieve full integration into the Latin American economy while perfecting the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM). To attain these goals Trinidad and Tobago is seeking, among other things, to lower the cost of doing business in the country, to promote investment in human capital, and to improve overall economic efficiency.
